Mr2 Roof Leak Fix

Hi my mk2 t bar roof leaks.

Has anyone had similar problems and been able to fix them yourself. I spoke to a salesman at a toyota garage about how much this would cost to repair and where to have it done. Jump to latest follow 1 13 of 13 posts. Hi everyone i m a owner of a toyota mr2 spyder 2000 model.

Discussion starter 1 apr 12 2008. Anybody got any ideas. Most leaks i ve seen come from the weatherstrip on the t top due to depressed rubber and or blocked drains. Mr2 s leak through the t bars whether its a mk1 or mk2 and you would ve thought by the mk2 those clever japanese types at toyota would have fixed it.

Have tried the cling film repair with silicone which has reduced the leak but water is still getting in is it worth me spraying the rubber seals. Better fix is to adjust your window. I wouldn t really call this a fix but is a simple solution to close up the gap. Ok so you have the mr2 t bar and you re feeling good while the suns out and life is just great.

Then it rains and you get wet. Soft top leaking mr2 spyder 2000. Before i bought an mr2 i viewed one that had a small 1 1 and a bit inch rip in the roof. Sometimes the water shows up at a ceiling spot distant from the leak.

Joined apr 12 2008 14 posts. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation push the insulation aside and look for flow stains on the plastic often water runs to openings in the vapor barrier such as at ceiling light fixtures.
