Mold growth on roofs is one of the most costly problems when homeowners fail to take action and simply allow the growth to continue. As you can see the alga gets on your roof easily enough the wind just has to blow in the right direction and there it is. While unsightly algae on rooftops does not present a health hazard and it is unlikely to damage your roof although it may decrease the effectiveness of reflective or cool roofs.
